Volleyball Recap: Everglades Gators vs. Franklin Academy Panthers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Everglades had no problem doing just that on Monday. They came out on top against the Franklin Academy Panthers by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on April 9th.
Despite the defeat, Franklin Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Noah Penco-Marshal had ten digs and two aces. Those aces marked the first that Penco-Marshal has served this season.
Everglades is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-8 record this season. As for Franklin Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-9.
Coming up, Everglades will face off against Pembroke Pines Charter at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jaguars will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Gators surely won't give up without a fight. Franklin Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
