Softball Recap: Dunbar Comes Up Short

Dunbar lost against Lely back in March of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Tigers came up short against the Trojans, falling 18-1.

Madisyn Zimmer was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and one run.

Dunbar has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.2 runs over those games. As for Lely, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-13.

Dunbar didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 19-17 loss against Lehigh on the 14th. As for Lely, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, an 11-9 win against Everglades City on the 15th.
