Volleyball Preview: Brentwood Spartans vs. Fort Cherry Rangers

The Brentwood Spartans will head out to challenge the Fort Cherry Rangers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Brentwood will come in still looking for their first win of the season.

Last Tuesday, Brentwood came up short against Bishop Canevin and fell 3-1.

While Brentwood had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 12 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 22-25, 25-12, 25-23.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Fort Cherry, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on Mapletown with a sharp 3-0 victory on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Rangers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak dating back to last season.

The final score came out to 25-15, 25-8, 25-19.

Brentwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Fort Cherry, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Brentwood might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Fort Cherry in their previous meeting back in October of 2019.
