Basketball Recap: Seligman Comes Up Short

Seligman was the 51-49 winner over Ash Fork when they last played one another two weeks ago, but their luck changed this time around. The Antelopes fell 48-38 to the Spartans on Thursday. The Antelopes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jesus Ayala went supernova For Ash Fork., going 8-for-16 to rack up 19 points. The dominant performance also gave Ayala a new career-high in field goal percentage (50%). Another player making a difference was Brian Purser, who shot 71% from the field en route to 10 points and seven boards.

Seligman's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Ash Fork, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-2.

Coincidentally, Seligman and Ash Fork will both be playing BASIS Flagstaff the next time they take the court. The Antelopes will head out to face the Yetis at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Spartans will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
