The Ribault Trojans will square off against the Stanton Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Ribault is no doubt hoping to put an end to a seven-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Ribault played against Old Plank Christian Academy and lost via forfeit.
Stanton can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They put the hurt on Riverside with a sharp 17-2 victory. The high-scoring effort was just what Stanton needed considering they were shutout in their previous contest.
Leah Joseph made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Joseph was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring four runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Stanton got a massive performance out of Talayah Pusey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Emmy Brannock, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
Ribault's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Stanton, their win bumped their record up to 8-9.
