Basketball Recap: Middleton Now 7-2 over Last Nine Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Middleton walked away with it. They came out on top against the King Lions by a score of 37-27 on Tuesday. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 46-15 back in November of 2024.

It was another big night for Laurie Julot, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. She has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Izabell Reyes, who posted seven points and seven boards.

Middleton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 28 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Heaven Pyfrom and Mariah Pinkney certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Pyfrom earned 16 points and six rebounds, while Pinkney dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. That was a full 59.3% of King's points, marking the third time in a row she's put up more than a third of the team's points.

Middleton has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season. As for King, their defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-16.

Middleton has already played their next game (against Robinson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. King does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
