Shane Frahm was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Mountain Range is undefeated when Frahm posts two or more runs, but 4-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cameron Williams, who went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Mountain Range's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 4-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Sol Gutierrez, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Mountain Range kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 5-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Boulder might've scored the first runs on Tuesday, but it was Brighton who claimed the real prize. The Panthers took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs.

Boulder also got a good showing from Bennett Levinson, who pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Levinson has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Finn Torvik made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Sam Skubic was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Boulder dropped their record down to 9-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home. Those home losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Mountain Range, their record now sits at 7-10.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mountain Range has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Boulder struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.4 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Mountain Range came up short against Boulder when the teams last played back in March, falling 7-2. Can the Mustangs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
