Preview: Creighton Prep Junior Jays vs. Buena Vista Bison
The Creighton Prep Junior Jays will head out on the road to face off against the Buena Vista Bison at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Creighton Prep has four straight wins, Buena Vista has 15 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Thursday, Creighton Prep was able to grind out a solid victory over Gretna, taking the game 64-52.
Creighton Prep got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dillon Claussen out in front who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and five blocks. Claussen is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Caleb Djoussa, who scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Buena Vista, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-42 loss to Omaha Northwest on Friday.
Creighton Prep pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Buena Vista, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.
