Softball Recap: Emmanuel Christian's Loss Ends Five-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Emmanuel Christian was riding high fresh off their 14-2 takedown of Rogers last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Warriors came up short against the Evergreen Vikings on Monday, falling 10-3. The match marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Maggie Woodward spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and eight unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up 12 Ks. Those 12 strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.

At the plate, Paris Foster and Ariella Morris stepped up to the plate in a big way. Foster scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Morris went 3-for-4 with one triple, one double, and one RBI. Foster is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

Emmanuel Christian's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Evergreen, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Looking ahead, Emmanuel Christian will take on Ottawa Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Green Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 21.25 runs per game on average), something the Warriors will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Evergreen, they will face off against Fairview at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
