Softball Game Preview: Bonsall Legionnaires vs. St. Joseph Academy Crusaders

The Bonsall Legionnaires are taking a road trip to face off against the St. Joseph Academy Crusaders at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Joseph Academy took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Bonsall, who comes in off a win.

Bonsall will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Monday, then bounced right back against San Diego Academy on Tuesday. The Legionnaires put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 17-5 win. The Legionnaires might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against La Jolla Country Day, falling 13-3. That's two games in a row now that the Crusaders have lost by exactly ten runs.

Bonsall's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-4. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.6 runs over those games. As for St. Joseph Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Bonsall suffered a grim 18-8 defeat to St. Joseph Academy in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Legionnaires avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
