Cannon County posted their closest victory since February 27, 2024 on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Community Vikings/Viqueens 55-52. Given the Lions' advantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Vikings/Viqueens are ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cannon County has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.9 points over those games. Community has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.
