Basketball Game Preview: Covington Lions vs. St. Paul's Wolves

Covington is 2-8 against St. Paul since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Covington Lions will be playing in front of their home fans against the St. Paul's Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Covington is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Wednesday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 64-61 heartbreaker at the hands of Hammond. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Lions have suffered since December 21, 2024.

St. Paul's got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They were the clear victor by a 61-37 margin over Mandeville on Tuesday.

St. Paul's win bumped their record up to 13-10. As for Covington, their loss dropped their record down to 18-11.

Covington strolled past St. Paul's when the teams last played on January 14th by a score of 81-65. Will Covington repeat their success, or does St. Paul's have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
