Baseball Recap: Hays Takes a Loss

Hays was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Clay Center Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-0 on Thursday.

Hays' defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Clay Center, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Clay Center beat Hays by a score of 5-0 later that day.
