Softball Recap: Temecula Valley Takes a Loss

Temecula Valley blew Lakeside out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Lakeside got their revenge. The Golden Bears fell just short of the Lancers by a score of 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Golden Bears have suffered since March 18th.

Jaycee Branson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kiara Bryant, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Temecula Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-17 record this season. As for Lakeside, their record now sits at 9-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Temecula Valley will head out to square off against Murrieta Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Nighthawks will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Golden Bears surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lakeside, they will head out on the road to challenge Perris at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
