Basketball Game Preview: Southern Coffey County Titans vs. Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojans

Southern Coffey County and Marais des Cygnes Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Southern Coffey County Titans will venture away from home to take on the Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Southern Coffey County saw some tournament action on Tuesday. They took a blow against Hartford, falling 57-10. The loss continues a trend for the Titans in their matchups with the Jaguars: they've now lost three in a row.

Southern Coffey County got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Karley Ohl and Emily Ludolph, who each put up five points. Ohl also led the team in rebounds with six. Kennedy Gunlock took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.

Meanwhile, a well-balanced attack led Marais des Cygnes Valley over Altoona-Midway in every quarter on their way to victory on Tuesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Marais des Cygnes Valley blew Altoona-Midway out of the water with an 81-20 final score. The Trojans pushed the score to 72-20 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jets had no chance of recovering from.

Southern Coffey County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Marais des Cygnes Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Southern Coffey County was dealt a bruising 62-35 loss at the hands of Marais des Cygnes Valley when the teams last played back in March. Can Southern Coffey County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
