Baseball Recap: North Posey Extends Home Winning Streak to Ten

It may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but North Posey ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Washington Hatchets 6-5. The Vikings haven't had any issues with the Hatchets recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Colby Angel made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with three RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

Angel wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kade Buecher, who went 2-for-4 with one RBI.

North Posey's win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.1 runs over those games. As for Washington, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.

North Posey and Washington are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Vikings will take on Pike Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Washington, they will host North Daviess at 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
