Baseball Recap: Montgomery Catholic Comes Up Short

Montgomery Catholic lost against Trinity Presbyterian back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Knights lost 15-3 to the Wildcats.

Gavin Phelan was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-1. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played.

Montgomery Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-12-1 record this season. As for Trinity Presbyterian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

While Montgomery Catholic had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
