Vail Christian took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Lamar, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Saints skirted past the Thunder 3-2. The win was nothing new for the Saints as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Sam Bates had a dynamite game, getting 15 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted over her last six matches. Michelle Teague also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Vail Christian was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Lamar lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Tatym McTaggart, who had four digs and four aces. She is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last seven games she's played.

Vail Christian's victory bumped their record up to 13-2. As for Lamar, with the defeat, they broke their eight-match winning streak and moved their record to 9-3.

Vail Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Denver Christian on the 4th. As for Lamar, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Fowler on the 4th.
