Soccer Game Preview: Greenville vs. Hillcrest

The Greenville Red Raiders will head out on the road to face off against the Hillcrest Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenville's defense has only allowed 0.4 goals per game this season, so Hillcrest's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Greenville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of South Carolina's top teams: Mauldin, who was ranked tenth at the time (Greenville was ranked 15th). The Red Raiders fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. That makes it the first time this season Greenville have let down their home crowd.

Meanwhile, Hillcrest kept a clean sheet against Easley on Friday. They came out on top against the Green Wave by a score of 2-0. Hillcrest haven't had any issues with Easley recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Greenville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-4-1.

Greenville beat Hillcrest by a goal when the teams last played on April 4th, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
