Baseball Recap: Williamsburg Comes Up Short

Williamsburg fell victim to Clermont Northeastern and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 1-0. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Wildcats' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Bronson Malott was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 6 strikeouts per game. He was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one double.

Williamsburg's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Clermont Northeastern, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Williamsburg will square off against Dixie Heights at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clermont Northeastern, they will take on Blanchester at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
