Softball Recap: Cedarville Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cedarville put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Urbana Hillclimbers with a sharp 13-6 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-5 on Saturday.

Gabby Rupp was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Katelyn Reed was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

Cedarville hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Urbana struck out seven times.

Cedarville pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average this season. As for Urbana, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Cedarville will be playing at home against Greenon at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup will give Cedarville their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Urbana, they will face off against Springfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
