Softball Recap: Westerly Falls Short Against Ranked Waterford

Westerly is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Waterford. The Bulldogs lost 9-0 to the Lancers. The game marked the first time this year in which the Bulldogs were not able to get on the board.

Westerly's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8. As for Waterford, the win was the 15th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westerly will square off against Prout at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Waterford, they will take on Fitch at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. The Lancers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
