Football Recap: Salem Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Salem Academy was the 25-15 winner over Taft when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Crusaders lost 42-21 to the Tigers on Friday. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Salem Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Taiki Kawamura threw for 210 yards and three TDs.

Kol Tolan was his usual excellent self, rushing for 201 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 80 yards and one touchdown for Taft.

Salem Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Taft, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Salem Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 35-7 victory against Blanchet Catholic on the 17th. As for Taft, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 35-0 win against Amity on the 17th.
