Football Recap: Salem Academy Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Salem Academy was the 25-15 winner over Taft when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Crusaders lost 42-21 to the Tigers on Friday. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Salem Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Taiki Kawamura threw for 210 yards and three touchdowns.

Kol Tolan produced another solid effort rushing for 201 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.2 yards per carry, and also throwing for 80 yards and one touchdown for Taft.

Salem Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Taft, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Salem Academy will square off against rival Blanchet Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Taft is set to challenge their familiar foe Amity at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
