Basketball Recap: Atchison Extends Winning Streak to Four

Atchison had won three straight games and Alondra Herrera did her part to make it four on Friday. The Atchison Phoenix came out on top against the Sumner Academy Sabres by a score of 57-44 thanks in part to Herrera, who dropped a double-double with 23 points and ten rebounds. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn Housh, who posted 12 points and eight boards. Those eight rebounds gave her a new career-high.

The victory got Atchison back to even at 7-7. As for Sumner Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-7.

Atchison has already played their next contest, a 37-34 loss against Wyandotte on the 11th. Sumner Academy has also already played their next matchup (against Harmon), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
