Lockney lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Nathan Hernandez, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Another player making a difference was Dahlen Silva, who scored 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Lockney has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for New Deal, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-17.
Lockney will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Smyer at 7:30 p.m. Smyer is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak. As for New Deal, they will head out on the road to challenge Floydada at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Floydada presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than New Deal in Texas (Floydada is ranked 362nd, while New Deal is ranked 1314th).
