Western Boone came tearing into Thursday's game with eight straight wins dating back to last season, and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the North Putnam Cougars. The Stars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Western Boone had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 19-25, 27-25, 25-13, 15-13.
