Winning always takes teamwork, but on Wednesday Alex Sanchez stepped things up a notch to give Middletown the 'W'. Nobody could stop Sanchez as he pitched seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Middletown is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-3 otherwise.

Sanchez's effort led Middletown over Newburgh Free Academy and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
