Recap: Harlingen Cardinals vs. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Bears
The Harlingen Cardinals had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.3 points), and they went ahead and made it 14 on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 77-50 win over Pharr-San Juan-Alamo at home. The result was nothing new for Harlingen, who have now won seven contests by 23 points or more so far this season.
Luis Rodriguez was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Flores , who scored ten points.
Harlingen is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season. As for Pharr-San Juan-Alamo, their loss was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 7-13.
Harlingen will take on St. Joseph Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Joseph Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 695th, while Harlingen is ranked 162nd). Pharr-San Juan-Alamo will be home for the holidays to greet San Benito at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. San Benito is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
