Baseball Recap: Penasco Comes Up Short

Penasco was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Mora Rangers/Rangerettes, falling 21-7. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rangers/Rangerettes this season, with their most recent defeat being a 17-6 loss on April 9th.

Elias Noll made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Lyrik Montoya, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Penasco's defeat dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Mora, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mora beat Penasco by a score of 20-10 later that day.
