The Tavares Bulldogs will square off against the Vanguard Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Tavares will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Six must be Tavares' lucky number: they beat Citrus with that score not once but twice on Tuesday. The Bulldogs beat the Hurricanes by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 6-2.

Emersyn Lee made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs.
In other batting news, Jasmine Lawrence was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Vanguard walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Panthers 4-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since March 28th.
Hannah Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jaelynn Whipple, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Cadence Abbott was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Vanguard has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Tavares, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7.
Tavares couldn't quite finish off Vanguard in their previous matchup back in May of 2023 and fell 6-4. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
