Volleyball Game Preview: Fostoria Redmen vs. Genoa Area Comets

The Fostoria Redmen will head out on the road to face off against the Genoa Area Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fostoria is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Fostoria came up short against Eastwood on Tuesday, falling 3-0.

While Fostoria was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Eastwood's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-16, 25-17.

Meanwhile, Genoa Area was able to grind out a solid victory over Rossford on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Genoa Area had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 22-25, 25-13, 25-21, 25-19.

Fostoria's loss dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Genoa Area, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.

Fostoria couldn't quite get it done against Genoa Area when the teams last played back in September as they fell 3-1. Can the Redmen avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
