Basketball Game Preview: Kennedy Fighting Irish vs. Segerstrom Jaguars

The Kennedy Fighting Irish will head out to face off against the Segerstrom Jaguars at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Kennedy has 16 straight victories, Segerstrom has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Friday, Kennedy earned a 64-53 win over Garden Grove. Given the Fighting Irish's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Argonauts are ranked 721st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Segerstrom ended up a good deal behind Pioneer on Monday and lost 75-57.

Kennedy's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-4. As for Segerstrom, their loss dropped their record down to 9-13.

Kennedy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Segerstrom in their previous meeting on January 3rd, but they still walked away with a 51-46 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kennedy since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
