Baseball Recap: Scranton Takes a Loss

After flying high against Delaware Valley on Tuesday, Scranton came back down to earth. The Knights fell just short of the Hazleton Area Cougars by a score of 6-5 on Saturday. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 7-4 to the Cougars when the teams met back in May of 2019, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Scranton moved to 13-11 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Hazleton Area, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.

Scranton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hazleton Area, they will take on Wilkes-Barre at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Wolfpack's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
