Volleyball Recap: Shae Valentin's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Plainfield over Bacon Academy + How To Watch

Plainfield lost against Bacon Academy back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Panthers took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bobcats. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 25-21, 23-25, 25-11.

Plainfield's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shae Valentin, who had 18 digs. Valentin is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 17 or more in each of the last nine games she's played. Paige Sears was another key player, getting five digs and two aces.

Plainfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Bacon Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-4.

Coincidentally, Plainfield and Bacon Academy will both be playing East Lyme the next time they take the court. The Panthers will host the Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Bobcats will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on the 10th.
