The Briarcliff Bears will head out on the road to square off against the Barack Obama School for Social Justice Lightning at 7:00 p.m. Briarcliff is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
Briarcliff suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Saturday. They were beaten by Tappan Zee 64-35. While losing is never fun, Briarcliff can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 618th, while Tappan Zee is ranked 221st).
Meanwhile, Barack Obama School for Social Justice didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Yonkers Montessori Academy on Saturday, but they still walked away with a 51-45 victory.
It was another big night for Seediya Jabbi, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Elvin Adrian was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Briarcliff's loss was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-8. As for Barack Obama School for Social Justice, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
Briarcliff strolled past Barack Obama School for Social Justice in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 55-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Briarcliff since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
