Preview: Dawson Bulldogs vs. Mart Panthers
Dawson has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Mart Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mart took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Dawson, who comes in off a win.
Dawson scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 68-54 victory over Axtell.
Dawson's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elijah Allen, who scored 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Allen has scored at least a third of Dawson's points. Another player making a difference was Hastin Easley, who scored 17 points.
Meanwhile, Mart ended up a good deal behind Bremond on Tuesday and lost 47-33. Mart has not had much luck with Bremond recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Dawson is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Mart, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything went Dawson's way against Mart when the teams last played on January 2nd as Dawson made off with a 58-38 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dawson since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
