Basketball Recap: Hebbronville Comes Up Short

Hebbronville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 16th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the John Paul II Centurions and fell 55-27.

It was another big night for Ella Garcia, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 12 rebounds for John Paul II. That makes it four consecutive games in which Garcia has scored at least a third of John Paul II's points. Another player making a difference was Ayleah Soto, who posted five points and five steals.

Hebbronville's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for John Paul II, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-8.

Hebbronville will host Banquete at 6:00 p.m. on December 20th. As for John Paul II, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-23 victory against Falfurrias on the 13th.
