Baseball Game Preview: Milan Wildcats vs. Scotland County Tigers

Milan hasn't had much luck against Scotland County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wildcats will welcome the Tigers at 5:00 p.m.

Monday just wasn't the day for Milan's offense. They fell 4-0 to Green City on Monday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Wildcats were not able to get on the board.

Putnam County typically has all the answers at home, but on Monday Scotland County proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Midgets. The game was the first time the Tigers have beaten the Midgets on their field since April 6, 2019.

Owen Brown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Tayte Richmond was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Scotland County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 5-8 when he doesn't).

This is the second loss in a row for Milan and nudges their season record down to 8-11. As for Scotland County, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-8.
