The Southwestern Rebels can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They snuck past Switzerland County with a 41-36 victory. This was payback for Southwestern, who suffered a 63-47 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Southwestern's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ashley Fulton led the charge by scoring 22 points along with six rebounds. Chloey Leach was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with ten rebounds.
Southwestern's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-10. As for Switzerland County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern will take on South Ripley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Switzerland County will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Jac-Cen-Del at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th.
