Baseball Recap: Prairie Central Snaps Six-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Prairie Central's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Dwight Trojans by a score of 7-4.

Easton Friedman made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three). He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Prairie Central's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-22 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Tony Schahrer was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Collin Hartman was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Prairie Central's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 7-23. As for Dwight, their loss dropped their record down to 24-11.

Coming up, Prairie Central will head out to take on Deer Creek-Mackinaw at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Chiefs will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Hawks surely won't give up without a fight. Dwight does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
