Softball Recap: Bandera Sets Scoring Season-High Against Hondo

Bandera scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Hondo Owls by a score of 12-10. The BULLDOGS were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Owls apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Preslee Jade made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those four stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Cerissa Fernandez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.

Even though they lost, Bandera was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hondo only posted a batting average of .265.

Bandera's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Hondo, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5.

Looking ahead, Bandera will take on El Campo at 12:50 p.m. on Thursday. Bandera will be hoping to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Hondo, they will face off against La Pryor at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
