Softball Recap: Mount de Sales Academy Victorious

The Mount de Sales Academy Sailors were able to grind out a solid win over the Howard Lions on Monday, taking the game 7-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Sailors.

Reese Barchanowicz spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on seven hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Olivia Ross, who got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three). Vanessa Gilman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and three RBI.

Mount de Sales Academy's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Howard, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-2-1.

Coming up, Mount de Sales Academy will challenge McDonogh at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Howard, they will take on Northern at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
