Basketball Recap: Carlo Agbayani Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat St. Mary's

Tokay was handed a 21-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They skirted past the St. Mary's Rams 65-63. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 64-54 win the Rams walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February.

Tokay's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Carlo Agbayani, who posted 22 points. Maeher Dhaliwal was another key player, putting up 17 points.

Despite the loss, St. Mary's had strong showings from Will Stephens, who put up 19 points and four steals, and Jonah Millonida, who had 12 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Stephens a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeremy Krause, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Tokay has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for St. Mary's, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Tokay wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 59-41 defeat against Fairfield on the 26th. As for St. Mary's, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 71-68 loss against Half Moon Bay on the 26th.
