Basketball Recap: North Tampa Christian Academy's Loss Ends 11-Game Winning Streak at Home

North Tampa Christian Academy entered their game against Bell Creek Academy on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The North Tampa Christian Academy Titans fell 66-53 to the Bell Creek Academy Panthers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 51-49 back in December of 2024.

North Tampa Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Cali Midyett and Jelissa Anderson. Midyett went 5 of 8 on her way to 15 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks, while Anderson went 5 for 12 en route to 13 points in addition to seven boards and five assists. Anderson is also crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Mila Miller, who posted ten points and four steals.

Bell Creek Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaslyn Easley, who went 8 for 13 en route to 20 points and seven steals. The dominant performance gave Easley a new career-high in steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendal Curtis, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 15 points in addition to five boards and five steals.

North Tampa Christian Academy's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-8. As for Bell Creek Academy, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

North Tampa Christian Academy will host Sickles at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Bell Creek Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 65-14 win against Patel on the 16th.
