Basketball Game Preview: Era Hornets vs. Slidell Greyhounds

Era is 0-10 against Slidell since December of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Era Hornets will host the Slidell Greyhounds at 8:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Era is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 69-42 win over Chico. The victory was some much needed relief for the Hornets as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Slidell had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 30.6 points) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 76-57 win over the Knights. 76 seems to be a good number for the Greyhounds as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Slidell is on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.9 points per game. As for Era, their win bumped their record up to 8-14.
