North Putnam extended their postseason success on Monday against Parke Heritage. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Wolves a 12-0 shutout. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 8-5 back in April.

Alec McKenzie and Owen Thurman made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, McKenzie tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Thurman tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because North Putnam is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 4-17 otherwise. At bat, McKenzie went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one run, while Thurman got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most RBI McKenzie has posted since back in May.
In other batting news, Kellen Windmiller and Camden Greene did most of the damage at the plate: Windmiller went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while Greene went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits Windmiller has posted since back in May. Griffen Starr was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
North Putnam hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Parke Heritage struck out seven times.
The win made it two in a row for North Putnam and bumps their season record up to 8-18. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Parke Heritage, their loss dropped their record down to 11-14.
North Putnam wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 4-0 defeat against Greencastle on the 1st. Parke Heritage does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
