Whiteford and Sand Creek are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2021, but not for long. The Whiteford Bobcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Sand Creek Aggies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Whiteford escaped with a win against Morenci by the margin of a single free throw, 36-35. The win was all the more spectacular given the Bobcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 175th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 34th).

Sand Creek got their first taste of in-conference action this week and they started things off strong. They snuck past Britton Deerfield with a 36-32 victory on Friday.

Sand Creek's win came from a few key players Whiteford will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Mya Harvey, who posted 14 points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in field goal percentage (60%). Another player making a difference was Faith Beardmore, who scored nine points.

Whiteford's win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Sand Creek, their victory bumped their record up to 3-17.

Whiteford took their win against Sand Creek when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 49-27. Will Whiteford repeat their success, or does Sand Creek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
