Basketball Recap: Questa Comes Up Short

Questa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Penasco Panthers 64-30. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, with their most recent loss being a 54-41 defeat back in February.

Questa lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Remington Smith, who posted five points. Those five points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Segura, who put up five points.

It was another big night for Kaileb Atencio, who dropped a triple-double with 23 points, 12 boards, and ten steals for Penasco. Atencio has become a key player for Penasco: the team is 6-2 when he posts at least three steals, but 6-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Angel Romero, who dropped a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists.

Questa's loss dropped their record down to 4-20. As for Penasco, their win bumped their record up to 12-14.

Questa didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 68-58 defeat against Mora on the 25th. As for Penasco, they have also already played their next game, a 60-57 loss against Escalante on the 25th.
