Basketball Recap: Foothill Tech Falls Despite Big Games from Ashton Brown and Nick Turner

If Foothill Tech was feeling good fresh off their 65-43 takedown of Coastal Christian last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Foothill Tech Dragons took a 53-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Polytechnic Panthers on Saturday. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 964th, while the Panthers are ranked 465th).

Nick Turner and Ashton Brown certainly did their best on Saturday to avoid the loss. Turner posted 22 points and three steals, while Brown put up 12 points and five assists. Those five assists gave Brown a new career-high.

Foothill Tech's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Polytechnic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-3.

Foothill Tech didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 56-44 defeat against Santa Ynez on the 23rd. As for Polytechnic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-46 loss against Arroyo Grande on the 23rd.
